You get the complete, readable source code -- it's "source-available," not open source. You may run it for your own business and modify it freely, but you may not resell it, redistribute it, or host it as your own competing platform. The sdk/ folder is the one exception: it's separately MIT-licensed, because it's meant to be built into software you sell to your own customers.

No. Installing is one command on a Linux server; everything after that -- store name, logo, colours, products, payments, email -- is configured in the browser. You'd only touch code if you're the one adding the licensing SDK to software you're selling.

Anything delivered as a download: software, plug-ins, games, ebooks, music, video courses, templates, presets. It's built for digital goods specifically -- it doesn't handle shipping physical products.

Honestly: it raises the effort a lot, it doesn't make it impossible. Every reply from your store is cryptographically signed, so nobody can run a fake licence server -- but a determined person can still edit a compiled program to skip the check entirely. Most sellers combine device limits and feature-gating with server-side value (updates, cloud sync, support) as the real reason to stay licensed.

Nothing stops working, ever -- you don't have to keep paying to keep using it. Alien XY is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The "updates" window (twelve months on Starter, for as long as the product is sold on Growth) only controls whether new versions are free to download during that time; once it ends, your installed copy keeps running exactly as it did, for as long as you want to run it. Want a newer version later? You'd pay once for that upgrade, or move to Growth, whose updates window runs for as long as the product is sold -- but that's optional, never required.

Yes. Install the same version on the new server, copy over your settings file, restore your latest backup, and point your domain at it. Nothing about Alien XY ties your store to one specific machine.

Yes. Use the link in your receipt email, or sign in to your account and open the order. Each file can be downloaded several times.
